You know the party has really begun when Rihanna and A$AP Rocky arrive. The tremendously stylish couple graced the Met steps with their presence again tonight, as they hit the red carpet wearing their respective takes on the artistic theme.
RiRi chose a metallic, aluminum-like dress, pulled from the Maison Margiela Fall/Winter 2025 couture collection, which featured a rhinestone-studded bodice and crinkly skirt, with a swirl of fabric framing her torso like a vortex.
For his part, Rocky wore a soft-pink, trench-length tuxedo jacket from Chanel, which was paired with a matching scarf tied around his waist like a belt. Underneath, the rapper sported a white dress shirt and black slacks, and he completed his fit with a bow tie, patent-leather loafers, and a wreathlike feather brooch. For accessories, he carried an apple-shaped chain-handle bag while piling on stacks of statement necklaces.
While Ri and Rocky can turn heads completely on their own, when they come together, they’re practically unstoppable, which is evidenced by their history of joint Met Gala appearances.
The last time they walked the Met steps together was in 2023, where the theme was “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty.” For that occasion, Rihanna chose a dramatic white gown with a hooded rosette coat from Maison Valentino, which she completed with matching white gloves and sunglasses with glued-on eyelashes. For his part, Rocky chose a red kilt with a train around back, layered over bedazzled jeans and completed with a black blazer, white dress shirt, and stacks of belts up top (a fit that was an homage to an ensemble once worn by Lagerfeld).
The pair attended the Met Gala together only one time prior to that, and their entrance was equally showstopping.
At the rescheduled September 2021 gala, where the theme was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” the pair closed out the red carpet (arriving fashionably late, of course), with Rihanna sporting a billowing black Balenciaga gown with a knit beanie and silver diamonds, while Rocky wore a multicolored quilt like a cape, as inspired by a piece discovered by ERL designer Eli Russell Linnetz in a thrift store.
You can trust that when these two attend the Met Gala together, they’re going to make a serious statement.
