NBC facing heavy criticism amid Nelly Korda's dominant Chevron Championship

NBC is facing heavy criticism for its decision regarding the Chevron Championship, which Nelly Korda leads by five shots.

Nelly Korda remains in complete control of the Chevron Championship ahead of the final round after firing a two-under, 70 to lead the tournament by five shots.

Korda is attempting to win her third major tournament and second Chevron Championship, which she won by two shots over Maja Stark in 2024. After finishing in a tie for 14th place last year, the American star holds a five-shot lead over Thailand’s Patty Tavatanakit, who won the major in 2021.

Before the two take to the course, a unfortunate discourse has emerged on social media thanks to NBC‘s decision not to start streaming the final round until over an hour after Korda tees off.

Golf reporter Beth Ann Nichols took to social media with the first complaint, which sparked plenty of others.

“The final group (threesomes?!?) goes off at 12:08 ET today, but fans won’t be able to watch any golf until 1:30 ET, when streaming begins on Peacock,” Nichols tweeted. “NBC coverage is from 2-5:30 p.m. ET. That’s 1 hour and 22 minutes of no way to watch the final group. How is that possible in 2026? Why aren’t phone calls being made to fix this today?”

Other fans weren’t too pleased with the decision either.

“This should not be happening at a major, especially with Nelly Korda, the face of the LPGA Tour, at top of leaderboard. Let’s hope it gets fixed,” added sports journalist Gene Wang.

Golf reporter Dan Rapaport simply said, “Oh boy.”

Korda tees off at 12:08 p.m. ET.
