He wanted it: Mom allegedly gave toddler tattoo

Brook Ann McDaniel was charged with fourth-degree assault child abuse for allegedly tattooing her toddler on the arm, according to Kentucky authorities.

A mom was arrested for allegedly giving her toddler a tattoo, telling others that the boy “wanted it,” according to police.

Brook Ann McDaniel was charged with fourth-degree assault child abuse, a misdemeanor, and was booked into the Adair County Jail in Kentucky, according to jail records viewed by Oxygen.com

It is unclear whether McDaniel has entered a plea.

On May 4, the Kentucky State Police were called to McDaniel’s Columbia home in reference to allegations that she had tattooed her 22-month-old child, according to a uniform citation obtained by Oxygen.com

When police asked the 27-year-old mom if the child had been given a tattoo, she stated yes, police alleged in the citation.

McDaniel told investigators that she was inking her leg when the child walked up to her, per the citation, and stuck his arm “in the way of her tattoo gun.”

Police observed a black tattoo dot on the child’s right forearm with red in the surrounding area, per the citation.

Several witnesses told police that McDaniel had stated that she gave the child a “party dot” tattoo, according to the citation, “and that he wanted” the design.

Observing the family’s “deplorable” living conditions, the officer contacted the Kentucky Department for Community Based Services to assess the home, according to the report.

McDaniel was arrested and transported to Adair County Jail, where she’s currently being held on a $5,000 cash bond, reported WKYT

Oxygen.com could not locate an attorney for McDaniel. It is unclear whether a court date has been set.
