Haltom City scores major retail win not far from H Mart Plaza

"This is a tremendous win for Haltom City and for the entire region."

Haltom City is getting a Costco Business Center and fuel center about a mile from the H Mart Plaza, and officials are calling it a major economic development win for the Northeast Tarrant community.

The closest Costco Business Center is in Dallas, according to a news release from Haltom City.

The Costco Business Center will be at 4909 NE Loop 820, and is scheduled to open in early 2027. The project represents millions in capital investment and will create more than 100 jobs, according to the news release.

Costco Business Centers are open to all members, but it caters to small businesses. Members can get all of their favorites including household staples, fresh groceries and signature products, but the warehouse will also offer professional-grade kitchenware and professional supplies.

The new Costco Business Center is also expected to become a “meaningful source” of tax revenue to support city services.

“This is a tremendous win for Haltom City and for the entire region,” said City Manager Rex Phelps.

“Our Council and staff have worked diligently over the past year to bring this project across the finish line,” Phelps said.

The arrival of an anchor like Costco is viewed as a catalyst for the entire NE Loop 820 corridor.

Haltom City anticipates that Costco Business Center coming to the area will attract the attention of other major retailers, sit down restaurants and other “high profile” services wanting to locate in high traffic areas,

Economic development director Robert Briggs said in the news release that Costco’s investment is a spark for other economic development.

“It validates the work we’ve done to prepare our infrastructure and position Haltom City as a place where major retailers and small businesses alike can thrive,” Briggs said.
