Alibaba’s (BABA) Amap unit plans to launch its first robot, joining a growing list of companies aiming to compete with Tesla (TSLA) in the rapidly expanding robotics industry.

According to Bloomberg, Amap has developed a four-legged device comparable to Unitree’s Go series, as well as the potential for a humanoid robot, a company spokesperson said.

“We have already made in-depth investments in the field of embodied intelligence, continuously releasing multiple embodied models, and actively exploring hardware product forms such as quadruped robots and humanoid robots,” the spokesperson for Amap told Bloomberg. “We expect to release our first quadruped robot soon.”

Along with Amap, Alibaba’s Cainiao Smart Logistics Network also unveiled ZeeBot, a robot capable of climbing five levels of storage racks in as little as 10 seconds, allowing manufacturers to double storage space and cut retrieval time.
