Rihanna has finally made it to the Met Gala. The singer was spotted Monday night leaving The Carlyle Hotel all dressed up in a sculptural metallic ensemble, en route to celebrate the museum’s “Costume Art” exhibit. Her partner A$AP Rocky wasn’t spotted with her, but we wouldn’t be surprised if he joined her on the carpet later. (He served as a Met Gala co-chair last year.)
Rih’s custom Maison Margiela look features a long-sleeve top covered in crystals and beads, and she continued the gold and silver motifs in her makeup and hair. (Look closely and you’ll find custom Jennifer Behr metallic curls atop her head.) She also wore Briony Raymond and DYNE diamond ear cuffs for more sparkle.
A brown shawl surrounds her torso, making her dress look like a precious gem peeking out from a piece of stone.
Not long after, she was photographed on the carpet, giving fans a full view of her look.
According to the fashion house, the draped column silhouette of Rihanna’s dress was “inspired by the medieval architecture of Flanders,” and the dramatic drape is meant to reflect Flemish paintings. The gown was made from fine metal recycled threads, which are typically used for computer wiring, and “sculpted entirely by hand.” The bodice was hand-embroidered with over 115,000 crystal beads, antique jewels, and chains, and took 1,380 hours to create.
She posed with Rocky, who looked dapper in a pink Chanel look.
Rihanna revealed her pregnancy with her and Rocky’s daughter, Rocki, at the 2025 Met Gala, which fêted the museum’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” exhibit. She wore a menswear-inspired look by Marc Jacobs, while Rocky was in a suit he designed through his creative agency, AWGE:
Rihanna recently appeared on the cover of W magazine with her baby girl, marking her daughter’s first magazine appearance. While Rihanna didn’t give an interview, Rocky spoke to the outlet about how the singer has evolved over the years, first as his friend and now as his partner and mother of his three children, RZA, Riot, and Rocki.
“She has changed a lot because she became a mother in that time span, and that certainly changes you,” he said. “But this woman has always been magic. Philosophically, the way she operates is on another level. She is the most charming and genuine person on Earth. Her energy is unmatched—one of a kind. I just adore her.”
In April 2025, Rocky spoke just as glowingly about Rihanna, telling Vogue that his love for her is “internal, external, infinite, the past, the future.”
