Sabrina Carpenter embraced Old Hollywood vibes as she arrived for the 2026 Met Gala tonight.
The pop superstar hit the red carpet wearing a custom look from Dior by Jonathan Anderson. (The recently appointed creative director of the French fashion house also designed her looks when she headlined the 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival just last month.)
For this occasion, Carpenter wore a dress made out of literal rolls of film, fittingly from the classic movie Sabrina (1954). The halter-style gown was composed of strips that wrapped around the singer’s body, forming a bow along her hip and a bustle around back while hanging down the side like ribbons.
In the front of the dress, beads draped down the bodice, while the skirt was composed of a sheer black fabric dotted with tiny gemstones. To match, Carpenter accessorized with a crystal headpiece and black platform heels, and her hair was styled in tight rolls that winked to the curls in her gown.
This is the third year in a row where the “Manchild” singer has walked the Met steps on the first Monday in May, and the fourth fundraiser she’s attended in total (her first appearance was in 2022).
Last year, the Grammy winner kept things cheeky in a burgundy bodysuit and matching cropped jacket from Louis Vuitton, the latter of which featured coattails that trailed behind her like two dramatic trains. Underneath, she wore a white dress shirt, and she matched her wine-colored ensemble with a pair of maroon platform heels.
The year prior, Carpenter walked the carpet with her boyfriend at the time, Barry Keoghan, while sporting a black-and-blue princess dress from Oscar de la Renta. A few weeks later, she would cast Keoghan in her “Please Please Please” music video (the pair called it quits that December).
This year, Carpenter serves as a member of the Met Gala host committee, alongside other stars like Lisa, Yseult, Doja Cat, Alex Consani, Misty Copeland, Lena Dunham, and more.
