Meghan Markle shares adorable new photos of Prince Archie to mark his 7th birthday

Meghan Markle, 44, has shared a rare picture of her son, Prince Archie, on Instagram as he celebrates his 7th birthday in California

Meghan Markle has shared an adorable new photo of her son, Prince Archie, to celebrate his seventh birthday on Wednesday.

To mark the sweet event, Meghan shared two photos, one from the day of Archie's birth, back in 2019, and a second featuring Archie walking on the beach alongside his younger sister, Princess Lilibet. Meghan sweetly captioned the photos: "7 years later…happy birthday to our sweet boy."

Archie looked ever so grown up for his birthday celebrations, which come less than a week after his cousin, Princess Charlotte, turned 11.

However, Archie's celebrations will likely be very different, as he's celebrating around 5,000 miles away from the Royal Family across the pond.

Meghan and Prince Harry will be making the day very special for their son and his sister, Princess Lilibet, at their $29million mansion in Montecito, California.

Last year's celebrations

2025 was the year Meghan returned to Instagram and started a new tradition of sharing a photograph for each of her children's birthdays – just as Prince William and Kate do for their children.

She shared a sweet photo of Archie as he turned six on her Instagram account – an atmospheric shot of him wearing pyjamas and staring out into the sunset.

The Duchess also revealed they held a birthday party for him, though the couple did not share any further details. Princess Lilibet, meanwhile, was treated to a trip to Disneyland for her fourth birthday.

On Monday, Prince Harry was spotted out for lunch with friends in LA, so it's possible he could have picked up some gifts for Archie while spending time in the city.

Archie and Lili's all-American childhood

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born in the UK on 6 May 2019, but has grown up in the US after his parents made the unprecedented decision to step down as senior working royals.

Relatively little is known about their Californian upbringing, but Meghan has started to show more of her children via her Instagram account, including snippets of their adorable American accents, red hair, and fun activities at home.

For example, last year, the family enjoyed a trip to Disneyland for Lilibet's fourth birthday, and they've made treats for Valentine's and St Patrick's Day.

Most recently, Meghan revealed that her children enjoy watching cartoon programme Bluey on TV. "Our kids love Bluey!" she exclaimed during an appearance on Get Down with Sean and Marley earlier this week.
