Today fans, Savannah Guthrie is adding a game show to her resume.

Fans know the TV host for her work in daytime television, which she's done for over a decade. But now Savannah is taking her love for the game Wordle to a new place, according to an announcement made during the Today show on May 12.

Late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon made an appearance on the NBC series and announced that he's executive producing a new game show for NBC and Peacock based on the hit New York Times game. Savannah is also involved with the project as a host.

"We’re bringing #Wordle to primetime!" the caption read alongside a photo of Jimmy and Savannah on Instagram. "Hosted by Savannah Guthrie and produced by Jimmy Fallon and The New York Times. Coming soon to NBC and Peacock."

Shortly after news of Savannah's latest career move broke, many rallied around her with excitement.

"Savannah will be great! Can’t wait!!" one person wrote in the comments. "Savannah's the best for this!!!!" another agreed. "Congratulations," a different follower added.

Savannah has been open about her love for Wordle on the Today show. Back in March 2025, she went behind the scenes at the New York Times to learn what it takes to write the various puzzles featured in the publication's official app.

Now, as far as logistics go for the new Wordle show, the series isn't filming until the summertime. Savannah acknowledged that NBC has been supportive of her decision to delay production after the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.

"You know, when everything happened with me and my family, [NBC] just stopped everything and said, 'We'll wait for you,'" she stated in a video posted on Instagram. "And Hollywood is a really tough business, and I didn't expect that. I just want to say thank you. It means so much to me."
