NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — A man accused of murdering a Bronx couple in front of their 3-year-old child has been arrested in Florida, decades later, police said.

Investigators said William Antonio Solis was taken into custody in Tampa by Homeland Security Investigations agents in connection with the 1993 execution‑style killings of Luis Guerrero and his wife, Danis Sime.

Authorities allege Solis spent years living quietly more than 1,000 miles from where he “viciously murdered the Guerreros in front of their young child,” HSI Acting Special Agent in Charge Michael Alfonso said.

Solis and two accomplices planned to rob Guerrero, a narcotics supplier, at a Bronx apartment. During the robbery, the group restrained Guerrero, stole his drugs, and then lured Sime into the apartment, where she was also bound. Solis then fatally shot both victims in the head, police said.

“The defendant in this case allegedly executed two New Yorkers in cold blood over 30 years ago, right in front of their three-year-old child,” NYPD Commissioner Jessica S. Tisch said.

Solis is charged with intentional killing while engaged in a narcotics conspiracy. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum of 20 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life or the death penalty.

“This long-term investigation underscores the tireless efforts of our NYPD investigators, in collaboration with our partners at HSI, who were undeterred in solving these brutal murders,” Tisch said.
