Undoubtedly, North Carolina basketball freshman standout Caleb Wilson left his mark at Chapel Hill. Now he prepares to enter the 2026 NBA Draft. He is already being projected as a possible No. 2 pick.

That said, Wilson is not going out without one more highlight left in him. Before a throng of fellow students, a North Carolina baseball player decided to take a chance and go one-on-one with Wilson. Inevitably, it didn’t end well as Wilson threw it down with authority right in his face, per The Field of 68.

The scrimmage took place at the Rams Recreation Center on the UNC campus. It featured the baseball team and other UNC students willing to hit the floor.

This season, Wilson averaged 19.8 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, North Carolina finished 24-9 and was upset in the first round of the NCAA tournament by VCU, 82-78.

In the process, Wilson accumulated a vast array of honors. He was recognized as a consensus Second-Team All-America (AP, USBWA, NABC) and received First-Team All-ACC honors. At the same time, Wilson set freshman records in scoring average, 17 20+ point games, and 24 consecutive games scoring in double figures.

However, Wilson sustained a season-ending thumb injury.

Going into the Draft, Wilson brings supreme athleticism, two-way versatility, the ability to switch effectively on the perimeter, and solid rim protection.

Meanwhile, North Carolina baseball is in the throes of their season. They are currently 34-7-1 and ranked No. 2 in the nation. Plus, they are 15-6 in the ACC.

Altogether, the Tar Heels are off to their best start since 2013.
