On Thursday, May 14, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a statement announcing Straus Family Creamery’s voluntary recall due to concern over potential metal foreign material. According to the report, “a small number of production runs of select flavors and sizes of its Organic Ice Cream” were pulled from shelves over the contamination.
The impacted products have been in stores since May 4 and were distributed across Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin.
The good news? “No injuries have been reported,” the company confirmed in the joint announcement.

The recalled products include Vanilla Bean, Strawberry, Cookie Dough, Dutch Chocolate, and Mint Chip in pint and quart containers with the following “best by” dates:
