DP World Tour and Jon Rahm reach agreement

Agreement Reached Between DP World Tour and Jon Rahm.

On the sidelines of the LIV Golf event in Virginia, the 2023 Masters Champion announced the agreement in interviews:

"There is no longer a stalemate."

Jon Rahm, statements

"We were able to reach an agreement. There were concessions on both sides. I made an offer, and they offered me an olive branch."

"Of course, we reached an agreement. This will no longer be a source of stress."

The terms of the agreement were disclosed in a DP statement, reported by Bunkered.com:

"They  have reached an agreement regarding conditional authorizations to play LIV Golf tournaments that conflict with DP tournaments during the 2026 season."

"This includes the payment of all outstanding fines accrued from 2024 to date, as well as participation in agreed-upon DP tournaments (other than Majors) throughout the remainder of the 2026 season."

More specifically, the DPWT has reduced the minimum number of tournaments Rahm must play from six to five, and the Spaniard will pay the fines for three LIV tournaments in 2026 that conflict with the European Tour schedule.

But for one LIV player who is moving in a positive direction, we have another who, instead, is determined in a completely different direction.

Thomas Pieters, a member of Captain Dustin Johnson's Team 4 Aces GC, said he was "ready to retire" if the Saudi League closes its doors.

"I'll definitely never return to the PGA"

"I never liked that life. It's not like me to try on the PGA Tour, it's not for me."

"I tried, and I wasn't happy there."

"If the LIV closes, I'll probably try to play on the European Tour, otherwise I don't know." And this is all about it.
