Our Instagram feed has been a little brighter since Sandra Bullock gave in and activated her account last month. The actor has only five posts at this time, and yet she has already managed to give a nod to her cult-classic film Miss Congeniality, promote her upcoming sequel Practical Magic 2, and delight us with a rare photo of her two kids.
In her latest post, Bullock marked Mother’s Day by sharing images of herself with her own mother and grandmother, as well as a photo of herself with her kids when they were little.
Bullock is mom to two children, son Louis Bardo Bullock, 16, and daughter Laila Bullock, 11. The actor adopted her kids and was raising them with longtime partner Bryan Randall, who sadly passed away in 2023.
“To all the mamas, No matter how you came to be, Happy Mother’s Day. We are all bound by this honor of a lifetime. Mom and Omi, thank you for teaching me. We miss you ❤️ Sorry I was such a brat,” Bullock wrote in her post caption.
Bullock has previously spoken about how becoming a mother changed her entire perspective on life and led her to pull back on her Hollywood career.
“It’s my kids,” she said on the Today show in 2018. “Everything is about them being okay, being in school, having what they need, their moments. I need to be there for every single moment that they have. It’s harder for me to leave them than I think it is for them when I leave. I don’t leave that much, and I don’t work that much anymore either. ... So my priorities are my kids, my kids, my kids. My family. My family. That’s it.”
She added, “I finally realize, ‘Oh, this is what I was supposed to do when I grew up. Not be an actress; to be a mom. ... This is my purpose.”
