NCAA softball scores today: Sunday's regional bracket, schedule updates

Follow along for scores and bracket updates from the third day of regional round play of the 2026 NCAA Softball Tournament.

The 2026 NCAA Softball Tournament field will once again be trimmed down as regional championships take place across Sunday, May 17.

So, which teams will advance to the Super Regionals, and who will be eliminated from the postseason bracket? Will any regionals force the "if necessary" game?

Top-seeded Alabama looks to punch its ticket to a third straight Super Regional with a win against South Carolina Upstate. The Crimson Tide got to face one of the nation's best pitchers in Belmont's Maya Johnson on Saturday in their 3-0 win over the Bruins. Alabama's three runs were Johnson's first runs given up since May 1.

Elsewhere, Jordy Frahm recorded a career-high 16 strikeouts in her 15th complete game of the season on Saturday in a 2-0 win for No. 4 Nebraska over Grand Canyon. The Cornhuskers will now look to go 3-0 in a regional for the first time since 2013, the same year of their last trip to the Women's College World Series came in.

Texas Tech put together a historic eight-run, two-out rally in the bottom of the seventh to force extra innings vs. Mississippi before beating the Rebels in extra innings on Saturday to avoid possible elimination. The Red Raiders will likely look back to NiJaree Canady to punch their ticket to the next round on Sunday.

The winners from Sunday's contests will advance to the best-of-three Super Regional round, which gets underway either Thursday, May 21 or Friday, May 22 at eight different sites.

The third day of the 2026 NCAA Softball Tournament will air across the ESPN family of networks, including ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and the SEC and ACC networks.

Streaming options include the ESPN app, with a valid cable login, and Fubo, the latter of which offers a free trial to potential subscribers. Other games will stream exclusively on ESPN+, the eponymous subscription streaming service.
