New York fans had their fun storming the Xfinity Mobile Arena as they saw their Knicks squad take down Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers on the road in a Game 3 victory on Friday night.
Going into the contest, New York boasted a 2-0 series lead. They have done well at defending homecourt in Games 1 and 2, fending off any potential upset efforts from Philadelphia.
Embiid made comments about fans showing up for Games 3 and 4 following the Knicks’ heavy support for the first two games of the series. As a result, it ended up having New York fans make the effort to show up in enemy territory and cheer on their squad. When New York ran away with the score in the final minutes of the game, the fans made sure to show off their passionate support.
How Knicks played against Joel Embiid, 76ers
Joel Embiid and the 76ers will have some self-reflecting to do quickly as they are one game away from elimination. As for the Knicks, they are one game away from getting back to the East Finals for the second straight year.
Philadelphia got off to decent start as the team led 31-27 after the first quarter. However, New York took control with a 33-21 display in the second period and never allowed the 76ers to take back the lead.
Four players scored in double-digits for New York in the win. Jalen Brunson led the attack with 33 points, nine assists and five rebounds. He shot 11-of-22 overall, including 3-of-8 from downtown, and 8-of-9 from the charity stripe. Mikal Bridges came next with 23 points and three rebounds, Landry Shamet had 15 points and three rebounds, Josh Hart put up 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Karl-Anthony Towns provided eight points and 12 rebounds.
The Knicks will look to finish off the 76ers by completing the sweep in Game 4. The contest will take place on May 10 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
