A burglary investigation led to charges after deputies say a man stole tools from a garage and was later linked to property recovered from a suspect vehicle.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, on April 12, deputies responded to a reported burglary on October Way in Guntersville. The victim initially discovered the theft while working on a mower and realizing several tools were missing from his garage.
After reviewing security footage, the victim saw a small car had pulled up to the garage the day before. A suspect could be seen making multiple trips into the garage and placing items into the vehicle before leaving.
The suspect was later identified by Investigator Fann as Michael Labron Hill.
Investigators said the suspects in the vehicle had already been arrested later the same day by Morgan County authorities on unrelated charges. Tools found in their possession were consistent with those reported stolen in the Guntersville burglary.
After interviewing the suspects, Investigator Robert Fann obtained consent to recover additional missing items from the vehicle in Guntersville. The recovered property was returned to the victim.
Michael Labron Hill was charged with second-degree burglary and first-degree theft of property. Bond was set at $60,000.
