A Redlands man accused of possessing hundreds of child sexual abuse images was arrested this week in the Inland Empire, police said.
Jason Michael Swantek, 48, was contacted by detectives Wednesday morning while on his way to work as part of an investigation prompted by an online tip, according to the Redlands Police Department.
Detectives later served a search warrant at Swantek’s home in the 700 block of Greenwood Court, where officers seized multiple electronic devices containing images of child sexual abuse material, police said.
“During the investigation, detectives also found video recordings and photographs taken surreptitiously from the street of young children on school campuses and other locations in Redlands,” the department said in a statement.
Swantek was arrested and booked into the Central Detention Center in San Bernardino. He is being held on $30,000 bail.
Anyone with information related to Swantek or the investigation is urged to contact Detective Dale Peters at dpeters@redlandspolice.org or the Redlands Police Department Investigations Bureau at 909-798-7659.
