In the interview, the Ukrainian leader said the decision will depend on when and how the Russo–Ukrainian war ends, whether Ukrainians want him to, and his family’s wishes.
“Not a given that yes, and not a given that no,” Zelenskyy said.
“It depends on when the war ends and how it ends. And you have to ask people whether they want that or not. And there is also my family — they hardly have any time [to spend] with me.”
Zelenskyy stated that the presidency is a demanding job that takes a heavy toll on personal life.
“I appreciate the trust placed in me, but this job has taken my family, it has taken our time together. This is not just a personal matter. I need to discuss this with my wife and my children,” he said.
