A CBS News visual investigation is revealing new details about the alleged assassination attempt on President Trump at this year's White House Correspondents' Dinner.

Those new details include:

  • Lack of camera coverage in key moments;
  • Smoke seen in recessed lighting, indicating the suspect's shotgun was fired;
  • An agent's quick reaction time.

Prosecutors say 31-year-old Cole Allen — armed with a shotgun, handgun and knives — attempted to break through a security checkpoint one story above the ballroom at the Washington Hilton, where Mr. Trump, top administration officials and members of the press corps were dining on April 25.

CBS News reviewed photos and footage from the scene with former Secret Service agent Keith Wojcieszeki.
