Dylan Sprouse is about to be a Big Daddy.

The former child star and his wife, supermodel Barbara Palvin, are expecting their first child.

The parents-to-be subtly announced the news at the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday. On the red carpet at the premiere of Histoires Parallees (Parallel Tales), Palvin — dressed in a baby-blue gown — posed with her hands cradling her pregnant belly.

Following the event, Palvin and Sprouse made the news official on Instagram with a carousel of photos including a glimpse of their baby’s sonogram with the little one’s fingers forming the “rock on” symbol. In the third slide, the couple make the same hand gesture. For a caption, Palvin chose three “sign of the horns” emojis.

Well-wishers flooded the comments section, as celebrity friends including Sprouse’s The Suite Life of Zack & Cody costar Ashley Tisdale, Disney Channel alum Dove Cameron, Nina Dobrev, and Patrick Schwarzenegger all shared their excitement.

Sprouse, who got his start in the 1999 Adam Sandler comedy Big Daddy, married Palvin in July 2023 in her native Hungary after five years of dating. Just a month prior, they confirmed their engagement in a conversation with Sprouse’s twin brother, Riverdale actor Cole Sprouse, for V Magazine.

“We just want to do it on our time,” explained Palvin, who has walked the runway for Victoria’s Secret, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Vivienne Westwood (who designed her wedding dress).

“When some people leaked the information that we got engaged, our PR team was like, ‘Hey, so you guys should do maybe a post about it or talk to this magazine or talk to that magazine…’ That really annoyed me because I knew we were building this story up,” she continued. “So, I’m very happy that we ended up doing it our way.”

Just weeks ago, the expectant couple had a frightening incident with an alleged trespasser at their Hollywood Hills home. Sprouse held the unwanted individual at gunpoint until police arrived, TMZ reported.

The two revealed they were coping at the Devil Wears Prada 2 premiere. “It’s dealing with the trauma with jokes and fun,” Palvin told E! News.

“We’re laughing about things the moment they happen,” Sprouse added. “You got to have levity in life. Thankfully, no one was hurt and there was no more violence than what happened. So, it’s all okay.”
